What is SECS / GEM?
SECS/GEM is the communication standard for equipment established by the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) association.
Semiconductor plants, TFT-LCD, IC packaging, PCB, and other electronics industries often use equipment from different suppliers, lacking a unified communication standard for inter-equipment communication. By implementing the SECS standard, you can collect more machine data, create a standardized communication interface, and allow seamless communication between equipment and control centers. This enables better process monitoring and anomaly analysis, achieving the goal of an automated smart factory.
